PRINT ON DEMAND TEXTILES

Create your own custom fabric products from your artwork with Spoonflower.com

SATURDAY, JANUARY 13, 2024
1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

INSTRUCTOR: Barbara Northrup

The advent of digital printing has transformed textile design. Print on Demand (POD) companies like Spoonflower.com give creatives the ability to have their art printed on fabrics but the process of transforming original artwork into a quality textile product takes many steps.

This workshop will cover that process using Spoonflower.com. We will discuss how to: photograph your art, create digital files, upload files, modify print sizes, and place orders.

You have the option to bring in a piece of art which we will photograph (or a digital photograph). We will create a digital file and upload it to Spoonflower so you can order a fabric fat quarter or finished tea towel. Go to wwwSpoonflower.com and sign up for an account before coming to class.

You will need to bring in your own laptop computer with a photo editing program installed to create files, upload and order. You must have some familiarity with your photo editing program. If you are not familiar with any editing programs, let me know in advance and I will make some recommendations.

If you don’t have a laptop to bring, I will try to partner you up with someone who does so you can work through the process with them and then create and order your own item from home.

I would like to have a ‘show and tell’ session a few weeks afterwards, once everyone has received their orders, to share the finished products. That date will be determined at the workshop.
