Who is this class for? Anyone who wants to work with clay and have a unique and fun night out.
What is it? Come spend a few hours creating your own piece of pottery. Students will be taught a project step by step and create their own original project. This class is relaxed and timed to complete a project. Completed pieces will be fired and glazed and ready for pickup in approximately 3 weeks. The instructor will contact students when they are done.
Note: Each class is unique and different projects are offered each session.

PAINTING THE GOLDEN ISLES with Kathy Rennell Forbes

Kathy Rennell Forbes at Driftwood Beach
We will spend two days on beautiful St. Simons Island.
Each day, Kathy will begin with a watercolor demo and then offer individual assistance.
One day we will focus on marshes and trees. Another day painting structures on the island. We will start with thumbnail sketches, learning how to simplify the scene and capture the light.
The final day we will paint on Jekyll Island.
COST: $425 GVA Members / $470 Non-Members

Have you ever wanted to try making jewelry?
Come give it a try in this fun class with jewelry artist Lisa Kent. She will show you how to shape and hammer wire and add beads to make your own earrings or pendant. Use of tools and materials included.

PAINT & SIP with Laura Dunn

Learn to paint loose abstract foliage with Laura Dunn.
Get ready to relax with a fun and casual painting session. Laura will guide you through painting your own island foliage and leaf arrangement. Over the course of this two-hour class students learn to mix colors, compose an image and paint with loose, expressive strokes.
No painting experience is needed. Bring a friend (and something to sip) for a fun evening painting together!

COLORED PENCIL ART

INSTRUCTOR: Joanna Hill
MEDIUM: Colored Pencils
Slow down with the relaxing practice of drawing with colored pencils. Joanna Hill will teach you how to layer with pencils and blend them using various techniques for a vibrant, colorful work of art. Then troubleshoot your drawing and learn tips and tricks to improve your skills. Joanna also will expose you to the many materials to take your coloring to the next level.
Due to the processes involved in colored pencil art, you may not finish an entire project in this workshop. Don't be discouraged: embrace the relaxation of this medium!
