Thompson explains and demonstrates the technique of reverse glass painting and guides students through a dog-themed project. Instruction covers idea formation to final product.
Framed glass, paints and brushes included.

Who is this class for? Anyone who wants to work with clay and have a unique and fun night out.
What is it? Come spend a few hours creating your own piece of pottery. Students will be taught a project step by step and create their own original project. This class is relaxed and timed to complete a project. Completed pieces will be fired and glazed and ready for pickup in approximately 3 weeks. The instructor will contact students when they are done.
Note: Each class is unique and different projects are offered each session.

ART 101: THE ART OF JOURNALING

Journaling is the practice of recording events, impressions, memories, travel, dreams, and self-reflection.

We will spend two days on beautiful St. Simons Island.
Each day, Kathy will begin with a watercolor demo and then offer individual assistance.
One day we will focus on marshes and trees. Another day painting structures on the island. We will start with thumbnail sketches, learning how to simplify the scene and capture the light.
The final day we will paint on Jekyll Island.
COST: $425 GVA Members / $470 Non-Members

TYE DIE- SHIBORI STYLE

Elevate your Tie Dye game with Shibori folding techniques! Learn how do use this ancient Japanese art to create uniquely patterned t-shirts. Color dye baths will be available so you can make single-color shirts or use them both. The fee includes 1 sustainable t-shirt (small, medium or large) made from recycled cotton and polyester. Each participant may bring one additional cotton t-shirt to dye as well. Wear old clothes and be prepared to have fun!
