Who is this class for? Anyone who wants to work with clay and have a unique and fun night out.

What is it? Come spend a few hours creating your own piece of pottery. Students will be taught a project step by step and create their own original project. This class is relaxed and timed to complete a project. Completed pieces will be fired and glazed and ready for pickup in approximately 3 weeks. The instructor will contact students when they are done.

Note: Each class is unique and different projects are offered each session.

Cost: $40 GVA Member / $46 Non-Member
No experience required. All materials included.

SHIBORI Tie Dye with Barbara Northrup

Elevate your Tie Dye game with Shibori folding techniques!  Learn how do use this ancient Japanese art to create uniquely patterned t-shirts.  Color dye baths will be available so you can make single-color shirts or use them both. The fee includes 1 sustainable t-shirt (small, medium or large) made from recycled cotton and polyester.  Each participant may bring one additional cotton t-shirt to dye as well. Wear old clothes and be prepared to have fun!

Create your Fourth of July party wear! All materials are provided.

MEDIUM: Gouache

Gouache is an opaque watercolor paint that dries with a matte finish. It’s a versatile medium used for decades by illustrators and artists.

Join professional artist Joanna Hill for this hands-on workshop, and learn to paint with gouache in a fun, stylistic way.

Adult Summer Camp! with Robert Smith

Techniques from the "Old Masters" are just as relevant today as they ever were.  Apply their wisdom to our modern world in this light summer series with Robert Smith. Enjoy GVA's studio, learn a bit of art history as you build skills, and celebrate summer with an ice cream treat on us!
