Who is this class for? Anyone interested in learning how to work with clay who has either never worked with it or has not done it in a long time. This is not an open studio type class. It will be teacher led and students will be given direct instruction for each project. Each class will have a specific focus and students will participate in each lesson.

In this class students will learn the essentials of creating ceramic pieces. The focus will be on handbuilding and construction techniques as well as simple glazing and finishing options. This class will have specific projects and lessons that all of the students will participate in and have several completed pieces when the course is finished.

Each week students will learn different essentials of ceramics and constructing.

Cost: $150 GVA Member / $170 Non-Member
Fee covers 4 classes. Clay is sold separately for $35 plus tax, which includes both glazing and firing. It’s nice to have your own tools, so if you’d like to purchase a small set of tools, may we suggest this clay tool kit.
