How We Send Ourselves into the WorldNovember 2024
Leigh Kirkland is a St Simons artist who reimagines found objects to uncover beauty in and in spite of the waste in consumerism.
The larger altered collographic prints are made from unfolded packaging, the literal detritus of the products we are made to want.
The smaller series, also altered collographs, reproduce feathered Mardi Gras masks, disguises to conceal the excesses that precede Lent, and the covid-era masks we wore as protection from the dangers of the world.
