THE STILL LIFE PAINTING
Composed then Decomposed and Reconstructed
2 Day Workshop

FRIDAY & SATURDAY, October 4 & 5
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

An opportunity to learn new mediums and experiment with your creative motivations! All art materials and mediums supplied with this workshop.

Join artist Micah Goguen as we explore loosening techniques in a variety of media from wet to dry. The objective of this workshop is practical application which allows the student to playfully explore a variety of techniques surrounding the still life.
• Day 1 will be about quick study application using a variety of media. You will be challenged to explore methods while not focusing on the outcome.
• Day 2 will be about reviewing works and selecting the best parts of each one as we tear and collage to reassemble a newly constructed image. We will end the workshop by adding additional mixed media layers to unify the elements. Bring your own resource image or we can provide one for you.

We will be working with GOLDEN acrylics, gels and pastes for mediums. Students will learn collage, palette knife, alla prima, washes and stains. Surfaces will be Ampersand Claybord, 340 lb watercolor paper and other found materials. We will be using SilverBrush Silversilk 88 Long Handle brushes for paint application.

This workshop is perfect for all skill ranges beginner to advanced. It lays a foundation while keeping you loose and free.
