Call to Artists
Event: 2025 St. Simons Island Wine Festival, hosted by Glynn Visual Arts. VIP Wine Tasting & Auction at King & Prince Golf and Beach Resort and Grand Tasting at SSI-McKinnon Airport, St. Simons Island.
Work Media: Glynn Visual Arts requests entries for the official artwork for the 2nd annual St. Simons Island Wine Festival to be held the weekend of October 25, 2025.
We are looking for an individual 2D work of art (painting, collage, print, etc.) that conveys enjoying wine in the Golden Isles. It does not have to be realistic or contain any specific imagery, but it should pair nicely with the event theme and essence.
The artwork will be incorporated into the official poster of the 2025 St. Simons Island Wine Festival and later auctioned off during our VIP Tasting & Wine Auction at the King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort on Friday, October 24, 2025.
Entries Due: May 30, 2025 by 5:00 PM ET.
Work Size: No larger than 24” x 32” x 2” (Canvas minimum depth without frame, 1.5”). Lettering should NOT be included.
Entry Requirements:
Entries are open to current GVA Artist Level and above members. Non-members are welcome to submit a $125 entry fee, which will include a GVA Artist Level membership for one year.
All entries must be original works of art that have not been previously presented for public viewing.
One entry per artist.
Submission Requirements:
Cover letter describing work of art, including medium and date of creation.
Ten to twenty (10-20) digital images no larger than 3MB each, presented in JPEG format with image size set to 300 dpi resolution, 4″ x 6″ image size, approximately.
Artist Resume including biography.
Estimated value of work.
Physical artwork must also be delivered to Glynn Visual Arts, 106 Island Drive, St. Simons Island, GA, no later than May 30, 2025 by 5:00 PM ET.
Artwork must be ready to hang on a walker system with a d-ring and hanging wire with artist name, artwork title, and year of completion on the piece itself.
A GVA staff member will be available to receive artwork and will be responsible for displaying.
Selection Process: The entries will be judged by a panel of artists, the event committee and the GVA Board of Directors. Only one submission will be chosen as the official art of the 2025 St. Simons Island Wine Festival.
Notification to artist: Artists will be notified via email no later than June 15, 2025.
Media: GVA will issue a press release inviting the public to view the winning artwork.
Publicity: Over 500 guests, staff and volunteers. Sponsors, exposure via social media posts where you will be tagged and noted. The artists will relinquish all publication rights and ownership to Glynn Visual Arts for use in promoting the event in print, video, social media and the like.
Compensation: Selected artwork is being provided as a donation to Glynn Visual Arts, a 501(C)(3) tax exempt non-profit organization. The artist(s) acknowledges and agrees that no financial compensation or other remuneration will be provided in exchange for this contribution.
Rejected Artwork: Artwork not selected to represent the Wine Festival should be picked up/removed from Glynn Visual Arts no later than July 19, 2025

Additional information
GVA, Inc. will reproduce the winning poster for sale during the festival. Only a limited number of signed copies of the poster are available for sale each year. The artist will be required to sign each poster prior to the festival.
The GVA committee reserves the right to accept or reject all work submitted during this competition.
The winning entry becomes the property of GVA, Inc. who will have the rights to unlimited reproduction and use of the image or parts of the image for wine festival materials and products for sale in perpetuity.
GVA, Inc. accepts no liability for damaged or lost art works.
