POTTERY HANDBUILDING/Open Studio -

Thursdays: These classes are an open studio session for independent work with no formal instruction. Prior pottery experience is required.

INSTRUCTOR: SARA MCKOUEN

SESSION 1 (6 WEEKS) August 13 - September 17; 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Session 2 (6 weeks) October 1- November 5; 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Session 3 (4 weeks) November 12 - December 10; 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Required Experience: Students must have completed at least two pottery classes at GVA (or equivalent) and be able to create, glaze, and complete work independently as well as have knowledge to maintain the work space. An instructor may contact you to confirm your skill level.

Note about working on the wheel: Although this is not a wheel class, wheels are available to work on if a student has experience setting and cleaning up, making, cleaning and finishing their own pieces. No wheel instruction will be offered.

Ages: 16+

COST: $205 GVA Member / $225 Non-Member
Fee covers 6 classes. Clay is sold separately for $35 plus tax, which includes both glazing and firing.

Don't forget to add clay. The price of clay includes glazing and firing. Clay options include: Bmix (smooth white), Iceman (off-white with slight texture), 112 Tan Speck (tan/brown with light texture)
