GVA maintains a fine art gallery — the Portman Gallery — in our visual arts center on St. Simons Island. We accept applications for all 2-D and 3-D visual arts media. Artist+ Member Open Call “With a POP!” - Apply Now
Pop art is a movement from the 20th century that reflected popular culture using irony and wit to blur the line between advertising and "real" art. GVA wants to see your interpretation of this art movement in art that "POPS off the wall." (You do not need to create pop art by definition.) Bold colors, textures, dimensional elements, etc. can all be part of your specially created artwork for this show. The application for the 2026 Artist+ Member Open Call, Pop of Art, is now open. Submissions must be received by May 23, 2026 to be considered for the June 15 - July 24 show in the Portman Gallery. Open Call Application.

2026 St. Simons Island Wine Festival - Apply Now
We are looking for an individual, original 2D work of art, (painting, collage, print, etc.) that conveys enjoying wine in the Golden Isles. It does not have to be realistic or contain any specific imagery, but it should pair nicely with the event theme and essence. The artwork will be incorporated into the official poster of the 2026 St. Simons Island Wine Festival and later auctioned off during our VIP Tasting & VIP Event at the King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort on Friday, October 23, 2025.
