Our artists generously share their time and talents as instructors, mentors, volunteers, committee members, and Board members, helping others discover the joy of creating. By investing in the next generation of artists and supporting one another, they demonstrate that art is about more than individual expression. It is about building a stronger, more connected community.

National research shows that students who participate in the arts are less likely to drop out of school, perform better academically, and develop stronger social and emotional skills. At GVA, we see these benefits every day through Summer Camps, year-round classes, homeschool programs, School's Out Mini Camps, and toddler art experiences. Time and again, we watch children work together, embrace differences, learn from mistakes, and build confidence in a welcoming, noncompetitive environment.
Inspiring Young Artists
Every child deserves the opportunity to experience the joy of creating. Through GVA's participation in Dolphins Do Art Day and Arty Party, more than 450 elementary school students each year discover new artistic techniques while building confidence, curiosity, and creativity in a fun, supportive environment.
Members Make It Possible
Everything GVA accomplishes begins with the support of its members. More than 332 member households represent a community of individuals who believe that the arts enrich lives and strengthen our region. Their generosity makes it possible to provide exhibitions, educational programming, artist opportunities, and outreach initiatives that inspire thousands of people in our community every year.

The annual St. Simons Wine Festival celebrates art, culture, and community while giving back through philanthropy. A portion of the festival's proceeds supports arts and education initiatives beyond GVA, including the College of Coastal Georgia Foundation and Golden Isles College & Career Academy. Through these partnerships, the festival helps invest in the next generation of local students.

Participants leave with more than a finished project. They leave with confidence, friendships, and a deeper appreciation for the creative process.

GVA supports local and regional artists by providing year-round opportunities to exhibit, teach, and connect through monthly exhibitions, art markets, festivals, and educational programs. These experiences allow artists to share their talents, connect with new audiences, and continue growing their creative practice while enriching the cultural life of the Golden Isles.

From toddlers to seniors, everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the visual arts. Through partnerships with organizations such as SOAR, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, The Boys & Girls Club, Safe Harbor Center, Jack and Jill, and others, GVA provides welcoming, hands-on experiences that encourage creativity, self-expression, and personal growth. These programs demonstrate that art is for everyone and that creativity has the power to build confidence, foster connection, and create a true sense of belonging.
History Comes Alive Through Art
Art has a unique ability to bring history to life in ways that inspire curiosity, conversation, and discovery. Through partnerships with the Coastal Georgia Historical Society, Fort Frederica National Monument, and The Historic Harrington School Cultural Center, Glynn Visual Arts creates interactive experiences that connect visual art with history, culture, and education. From Heroes & Patriots in Silhouette to community history festivals and educational programs, these collaborations invite people of all ages to explore the stories that have shaped the Golden Isles while fostering a deeper appreciation for our shared heritage.

Through Creation Station, GVA brings free, hands-on art experiences to schools, festivals, libraries, and community events throughout the Golden Isles, reaching thousands of children and families each year. For many participants, these experiences are their first introduction to the visual arts, inspiring creativity, curiosity, and a lifelong appreciation for art.

Public art transforms the way people experience a space. As an anchor partner in the Brunswick Mural Project, GVA helped create vibrant murals that celebrate the history, culture, and creativity of our community. Years later, these works continue to inspire civic pride, welcome visitors, and remind us that art can be part of everyday life.
Celebrating Culture Through Art
Art has the power to preserve traditions, honor diverse voices, and connect generations through shared experiences. Through initiatives such as Art of the Low Country, Footprints in America, and The Sapelo Collection, GVA celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Coastal Georgia while creating opportunities for learning, appreciation, and meaningful community connections.
Creating Art. Fighting Hunger.
The Empty Bowl Fundraiser is a reminder that art can change lives in meaningful ways. Handmade pottery bowls, created in GVA's pottery studio and donated by artists and students, are sold each year to benefit Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia. Thanks to the support of artists, volunteers, supporters, and retail partners, more than 2,000 handcrafted bowls have helped raise more than $30,000 to support local families facing food insecurity while bringing the community together around a shared purpose of generosity and compassion.
Art Beyond Our Walls
Some of Glynn Visual Arts' most meaningful work happens outside our building. By partnering with schools, civic organizations, nonprofits, museums, and community groups throughout the Golden Isles, GVA brings the benefits of the visual arts to people where they live, learn, and gather. These collaborations make art more accessible, strengthen community connections, and inspire creativity across generations.

GVA brings hands-on creative experiences directly into the community through events like PorchFest, the Norwich Street Multicultural Festival, and the Gullah Geechee Jingle Jangle Christmas Celebration, GVA brings hands-on creative experiences directly into the community. These celebrations encourage creativity, celebrate the rich diversity of the Golden Isles, and create lasting memories for hundreds of children and families each year.
