MEDIUM: Acrylic or Oil

An ongoing weekly class for beginning or more advanced students’ skills in either oil or acrylic painting. Students will choose their own subject matter and composition, from photographs or still life. Instructor’s comments and weekly group critiques will encourage students and enhance skills.


Cost: $125 GVA Member / $150 Non-Member / $35 Drop-In
Fee covers 4 classes. Classes do not need to be completed in succession.

WATERCOLOR TECHNIQUES

MEDIUM: Watercolor

Besides including color theory, St. Clair's class is first and foremost an ongoing watercolor painting class. Over time, even rank beginners in the medium will advance their skills to allow them to better express their own vision. The class is ongoing, on Friday mornings.

Learn about Watercolor Methods

If you’re new to watercolor, this is the place to be! You’ll learn how to use a viewfinder to plan your composition and how to use salt, sponge, splatters, alcohol, scratching, lifting, wax resist, saran wrap, masking, and other methods to enhance your paintings. Supplies will be provided.

ART 101: BASIC PERSPECTIVE for ARTISTS

MEDIUM: Graphite

Join Tom Quinn, for a two hour demonstration and participation class of one and two point perspective layouts. Improve your painting skills and urban sketching techniques. Artists at all levels are encouraged to experience these basic principles that are guaranteed to help your artwork in any medium. Drawing paper and tracing paper will be provided, all you need is a HB graphite pencil, a 12 inch ruler and a kneaded or plastic eraser.

CALLING ALL ARTISTS

Join your fellow artists the first Tuesday of every month for Artist Forum. Share some of your brilliance and insight in a gentle critique of your own work -- and your fellow artists. You are not required to "show and tell" in order to join the stimulating and inspirational conversation but all work is welcome. Refreshments are shared.
